|Under the guidance of Mr. Daniel Sup, students, parents, and staff at John Caboto School took
some quiet time to reflect on the sacrifices Canadians made to defend our freedom. The children were
treated to a little skit presented by Mr. Sup which allowed them to understand how fortunate we are to
live in Canada. We were also treated to several videos, one presenting the poem "In Flanders Field"
written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae in 1915. We were made to think of our role as Peacemakers at
school and in the community so that we could help end violence. Mr. Stephan Gaines, a member of The Black
Watch (The Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada, played the bagpipes on the 11th to help us remember to
appreciate the sacrifices of others.|
