LaurenHill wins Robot competition

At the recent CRC Robotics competition entitled Archemedia 2007, LaurenHill Academy in St. Laurent again represented the EMSB proudly by winning the Robot competition. Twenty six high schools, CEGEPS and technical schools competed this year at Rosemere High School recently. LaurenHill's robot, called Optimus Prime, started slowly, completing Day one in 18th place but improved with each round in the competition culminating in a dramatic victory in the finals. LaurenHill's team was composed of 28 students from Secondary I to V and its teacher advisors Joseph Verelli, Sal Lancione, Sharon Erskine and Tanya Alvares.
