Royal Vale School in N.D.G. took part in the Heart and Stroke Jump Rope for Heart April 13. This marked the fourth consecutive year the school hosted the event. A total of $18.600 was raised, eclipsing last year's total of $13,691 in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Quebec. The fundraising component consisted of staff and students participating in a skipping challenge. Prior to the event, participants secured pledges. Students received fabulous thank-you prizes based on the pledges they collected individually. Physical Education teacher Norman Katz taught the required skills and prepared students in their Physical Education classes leading up to this non-competitive and dynamic program. Montreal Alouettes, kick returner Keith Stokes and some cheerleaders were on hand to sign autographs.
