Paul Gerin-Lajoie

Paul Gérin-Lajoie, a Canadian lawyer, philanthropist and a former member of the National Assembly and a one-time cabinet minister, spoke at Leonardo Da Vinci Elementary School in Rivière des Prairies Jan. 28. In 1977 he established the Paul Gérin-Lajoie Foundation (, an organization that has contributed to the basic education of children in the poorest countries, in addition to raising awareness of these international countries among primary school children in Canada. Leonardo Da Vinci students are participating in the PGL Dictée, which is designed for students from kindergarten to Grade 8, in francophone and French-immersion classes.
