Shadd Marks Black History Month

The English Montreal School Board’s  Shadd Business Centre in N.D.G was an active participant in Black History Month, which served as an excellent opportunity for  students to learn about the experiences and contributions of Black Canadians and the vital role this community has played throughout our history. Student Judy Bridgemohan  formed a committee with the support of her teachers and peers and organized an event that included song, music, awareness  and words of inspiration. Special guests included Reverend Darryl Gray (senior pastor of  the Imani Family& Full Gospel Church), singer and entertainer  Ce Ce Walker, violinist Chris Vaughn, Maureen Gittens  (of the Canadian Space Agency),N.D.G. Lachine Liberal MP Marlene Jennings  and the Marymount Academy Steel Pan Band.
