During the month of October, 35 students from Dante Elementary School in St. Léonard worked collectively, under the direction of their art teacher  Franca Mambro, to produce several entries for the Montreal Botanical Gardens’ annual Pumpkin-decorating contest. The pumpkins were showcased at the garden’s “Grand Bal des citrouilles” exposition. Having submitted a pumpkin entitled “Mother Nature, artist and masterpiece,” Dante students won first prize in the  aged 9 to 12 category for best decorated pumpkin. On Friday October 24, five students accompanied their teacher for the awards ceremony held at the Botanical Gardens.
