While most children adore canines, dog bites nonetheless remain one of the leading causes of injury amongst children in North America. In order to increase awareness about the dangers of dog bites and how to avoid them, as well as how not to be afraid of dogs, St. Gabriel Elementary School in Point St. Charles and Coronation Elementary School in Cote des Neiges hosted a travelling presentation called “Sarahs Aware …. Not Afraid.” The presentation featured 15-year-old Sarah from Saskatchewan and Jennifer Boyle from Bark Busters (www.barkbusters.ca) who brought along six month old Labrador Jello. Students listened attentively to the presentations and asked a lot of questions.
