Improving Student Success Rates

The EMSB had strong representation at a major conference focused on improving the student success rate. Educators from four other Montreal area school boards and one from Laval were on hand to attend this Regional Roundtable to launch the Montreal Hooked on School network. As chairman of the Table des parternaires pour la perseverance scolaire de Montréal, EMSB Director General Antonio Lacroce spoke to over 600 people in the Rosemount High School Auditorium about the many years of work that has gone into developing strategies aimed at stemming the dropout rate. EMSB Chairman Angela Mancini was part of a panel, with the chairs of four other Montreal island boards. During the day, many EMSB senior managers, pedagogical consultants, commissioners and school administrators attended workshops. The Rosemount High School Band played some beautiful music as participants filed into the room. Earlier in the day, a press conference was held to formally launch the Montreal Hooked on School network.
