Parkdale Apple picking

On October 13 students from Parkdale Elementary School in St. Laurent went apple picking! Even though it was overcast and cloudy, students were lucky that the weather held out long enough for them to pick bagfuls of apples to bring home. Students took buses to Le Pomiculture du Bucheron in Saint-Joseph-du-lac early in the morning to be able to walk through the apple orchards and pick fresh apples directly from the trees. They were also able to feed deer, goats, donkeys and ducks that are kept on location for the enjoyment of the children that visit. After eating lunch, students were treated to a fabulous puppet show and a fun tractor ride through the orchard! Exhausted and full of apples, students and teachers returned to Parkdale to finish our day in school. A big thank-you to our hosts at the orchard and to all the parent volunteers that helped us out that day!
