Royal Vale kids at VISTA

On December 15, 46 grade 3 students from Royal Vale School in N.D.G. brought some holiday cheer to the residents of the VISTA apartment complex for active seniors, which is located on Cote St. Luc Road. Their special hour-long Christmas holiday presentation consisted of two parts. First, six students played on the piano a selection of popular tunes, from Christmas and Chanukah standards, to classical music, to songs from popular Disney movies. It was followed by a performance of the choir, who sang several popular Christmas and Chanukah songs in both English and French, such as “Silver Bells” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”. After that, the students presented the residents with Christmas cards that were specially created by them. This event was part of the VISTA Intergenerational Program (VIP), which explores issues of interest to seniors and youth, with a view to increasing respect and understanding between the two age groups, through educational and social events that will bring students and seniors together on a monthly basis. The VISTA Intergenerational Program is a partnership between VISTA, the EMSB and the Commission scolaire de Montreal (CSDM).
