Jump Rope for Heart at Royal Vale!

Continuing a nine year old tradition, students from Royal Vale Elementary School in N.D.G once again participated in the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Jump Rope for Heart event. Cheering them on was international wrestling icon and Olympian Martine Dugrenier.

All 364 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 participated in the Jump Rope for Heart.

Hailing from Notre-Dame-de-Grace, Dugrenier is a 3-time World Champion (2008, 2009 and 2010), 8-time National Champion and finished 5th at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. She will also be representing Canada at this summer’s Olympics in London, England.

Under the guise of Norman Katz, since 2003, Royal Vale has raised over $145,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation through Jump Rope for Heart – including $20,143 last year alone. The school is recognized as the highest grossing fundraiser for this event in Quebec.
