LMAC hosts Privacy Panel

To launch Media Literacy Week 2012, high school students at Laurier Macdonald High School in St. Léonard had the opportunity to sit down ) and talk to a panel of experts about online privacy as part of this year’s theme “Privacy Matters.” The week is hosted by MediaSmarts and the Canadian Teachers’ Federation. The panel, which included experts from Google Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and the University of Ottawa, was broadcast eight schools across the province through the Community Learning Centres. Panelists included Colin McKay from Google Canada and special guest Jennifer Stoddart, Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Tania Krywiak of CTV News Montreal served as moderator.
