Speciality: Interior Design
Interior designers conceptualize and produce esthetic, functional and safe designs for interior spaces in residential, commercial, cultural, institutional and industrial buildings.
A university degree or college diploma in interior design is usually required. Creative ability and artistic talent, as demonstrated by a portfolio of work is required. Registration with the interior design association in the province of employment may be required. The National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) examination may be required after six years of combined study and experience. Certification is offered in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, certain cities in Quebec, in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
