Required Qualifications:

  • The candidate must hold a secretarial diploma of vocational studies or, hold a secondary V diploma or equivalent recognized by the competent authority and have at least two (2) years of pertinent experience.

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists of organizing, preparing and conducting a series of activities fostering the overall development of students in preschool and elementary schools in his or her care, while ensuring their health and safety.

Duties:

  • Employee prepares conducts and participates in sports, cultural, leisure and recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors, in keeping with the program and education intervention strategies.
  • Employee assists students in dressing and undressing.
  • Employee records attendance.
  •   Employee assists students in preparing and eating their meals and snacks while ensuring that the rules promoting health and well-being are observed.
  • Employee ensures the supervision and safety of students in accordance with the rules of conduct, safety measures and recommendations of parents.
  • Employee administers first aid.
  • Employee informs the parents and all concerned when a student demonstrates abnormal behavior.
  • Employee ensures that the premises are neat and in order as well as maintains material and equipment.
  • Employee may be called upon to help those students who so desire with their school work while ensuring an appropriate atmosphere and environment conducive to doing their homework and lessons.
  • Employee takes part in meetings organized by the person-in-charge of the day care service as regards the organization and operation of the day care service.
  • Employee takes part, upon request, in information meetings intended for parents.
  • Employee may be called upon to participate in meetings to establish an individualized education plan in order to convey his or her observations and makes pertinent suggestions concerning a student with a handicap or a student demonstrating behavioral or emotional problems and applies the measures chosen within the scope of his or her duties.
  • Employee may be called upon to initiate new day care educators.
  • The employee keeps track of the presence / absence of students
  • If need be, he or she performs any other related tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must hold a secondary V certificate or hold a diploma or attestation of studies of equivalence.
  • Must hold a valid First-Aid certificate.
  • Possess at least one (1) year of pertinent experience in a field enabling him/her to acquire a personal discipline and aptitude in psychology and human relations.
  • Should have initiative and be a responsible person.
  • Must be available (flexible hours at the beginning and at the end of each day).
  • Must be able to work as a team member.
  • Must have fluent English oral and written skills.
  • Must speak fluently in French for fully or partially immersion schools.

    The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in organizing a program of activities of the day care service so as to foster, in keeping with the educational project of the school, the overall development of students while observing the rules and taking into account the interests and needs of the students. The employee assumes the duties of the person-in-charge of a day care service in accordance with school board policy. The employee sees to the general well-being of students and ensures their health and safety.

    The employee also performs technical work related to the operation of the day care service particularly with regard to the management of financial, human and material resources.

    Duties:

    • Employee in this class of employment participates, in collaboration with the school administration, in planning, developing and evaluating the program of activities in keeping with the educational project of the school and ensures its implementation.
    • Employee makes suggestions and recommendations concerning the updating of the operating rules of the day care service.
    • Employee informs the parents and students of the rules established.
    • Employee sees to the admission and registration of students and establishes a procedure in this regard.
    • Employee keeps and updates student attendance records.
    • Employee ensures that the rules of conduct and safety measures are observed.
    • Employee ensures communication between parents and the school administration, between the day care service and various internal departments and outside organizations.
    • Employee prepares and chairs information meetings with parents with regard to the organization and operation of the day care services.
    • Employee forwards to the competent authority any request, complaint or suggestion.
    • Employee assists the school administration in determining budgetary forecasts.
    • Employee prepares bills, collects monies and makes deposits according to the procedure established.
    • Employee makes various payments and keeps a petty cash.
    • Employee follows up the service's budget and reconciles accounts.
    • Employee completes various forms and forwards any information on budget balance.
    • Employee participates in establishing the needs in personnel.
    • Employee determines the work schedules and coordinates the work carried out by the support staff concerning the implementation of the program of activities and may be called upon to initiate new persons-in-charge.
    • Employee prepares and chairs meetings of the service.
    • Employee records personnel attendance, verifies the statement of hours worked and carries out the necessary measures to replace absent personnel.
    • Employee participates in the physical and material organization of the day care service.
    • Employee recommends purchases and proceeds with purchase of material and equipment according to the terms and conditions established.
    • Employee keeps user files and telephone numbers up-to-date.
    • Upon request, the employee shall prepare a report for the school administration or for the Administration Committee of the school day care services.
    • Employee follows instructions issued by the school or school board.
    • Employee prepares and schedules meetings with the Educators.
    • Employee may perform tasks related to the supervision of students attending the day care.
    • If need be, the employee performs any other related task.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Must hold a college diploma (DEC) in Early Childhood Education or diploma or attestation of studies that is recognized as equivalent.
    • Must hold a valid First-Aid Certificate.
    • Should have initiative and be a responsible person.
    • Must be available (flexible hours at the beginning and at the end of each day).
    • Must be able to work as a team member.
    • Pertinent experience in a field enabling him/her to acquire a personal discipline and aptitude in psychology and human relations would be an asset.
    • Knowledge of basic accounting and administrative skills would be an asset.
    • Knowledge of the Dofin accounting system would be an asset.
    • Must have fluent English oral and written skills.

    Temporary Substitute On - Call Child Care Workers

    Attendants for Handicapped Students
    Candidates must hold a Secondary School Diploma, one (1) year of pertinent experience in the field of Special Education (working with students with special needs), and valid First Aid Certificate. Salary Range: $16,22 to $18.76 per hour

    Special Education Technicians
    Candidates must hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies in Special Care Counseling, or the equivalent, or a University degree in a related field (Child Studies, Education, Psychology, Human Relations, etc.), relevant work experience, and a valid first aid certificate. Salary Range: $20.98 to $29.37 per hour
