Movies in the Park Hosted at GV!

Wednesday, August 28, 2013back2school

Movie in the Park was so fun! We had Virgin Radio come to the schoolyard and Freeway Frank was the host! There were hot dogs, popcorn and coke. My favourite part was when we got to play with
our friends at the end! I'm Kayla… and that’s my view!

Welcome Day

Friday, September 13, 2013back2school shuck eat play walk

Welcoming day was September 13 and most students of our awesome school enjoyed playing games in the gym with Mrs. Enza and the Dynamics leaders. We also went on a walk with the music teacher, making music with several instruments such as the tambourine. Many students enjoyed this walk but Raghul in 4th
grade thinks otherwise:“I did not like the walk because it was embarrassing”, he said. Stephanie in grade 6 said that she wanted to play with her friends the whole day instead of only two hours. We’re Giuliano I, Tedario, and Kayla… and that’s our view!

Yummy Treats and Daily Learning in Kindergarten

September 26, 2013candy apples

The students in kindergarten made yummy candy apples with their teachers Miss Rosina and Mme Sandra. First, they dipped the apples in melted caramel. The next day, the candy apples were ready to eat. They were peanut free, because of allergies! We asked some kindergarten students what theythoughtabouttheapples andtheyall enjoyed them!
kdg septThe kindergarten students are learning their vowels, their numbers, their alphabet and poems. They will also be doing a project on a toy that starts with the letter A or E. Every month they will learn a new poem. They are learning so much that they will definitely do well in school!

Grade 6 Updates...

courrantsThe class of 6A and 6B has just finished a project about electric currants and how they work. I got an exclusive interview with Anthony F and Gian Marco, who said the project was very fun and it was an amusing way to learn about electricity. Anthony says ``The project was very easy because there wasn't much wiring but it was still educational.” If you're wondering whats Gian Marco had to say about it, he agrees with Anthony: “ In my opinion the project  was very interesting because I've always loved science. The project was very cool because we used different items to  light up  a small light bulb like a double a battery, some copper cable and a light bulb. All in all the project was very interesting and amusing."

readingIt was a memorable experience reading with the grade one class because of the dozens of kids we were reading to. When they first came in the room I saw their facial expression as if they didn't have an interest in this, probably because they did not know how to read. However, when we started reading to them, their attitude changed.  I can't really put my finger on it, but it is something I will never forget. Looking around the room, I could tell that my friends all felt the same, and that we would all do it again. I'm Massimo, and I'm the view. Peace!

Caution: Students Hard at Work!

The 4A and 4B classes just finished presenting their project on their names. Their task was to look up their name, and discover what it means. They have started to learn “place value” in math, and religion and culture in French class. Fourth grade is hard at work! We’re Victoria and Jordana, and that’s our view!

Grade 5's got Personality...

Personality sacks, that is!
Grade five students created a personality sack and then presented it to the class.
It was a fun way to tell their friends more about themselves. Students had a chance to express their personality by bringing objects that represent them.
