A Goodbye Letter from Christina Chilelli

May 1, 2014

Dear Hampstead School Community,

What a difference nine months make! At the start of the year, I was excited to begin my journey at Hampstead School. I looked forward to getting to know your children and watching them grow throughout the course of the year. I also looked to the future to find ways to make Hampstead School the best it can be. In addition to the children, I also looked forward to getting to know you, the parents and guardians of these wonderful children. Fortunately, I was able to meet many of you and develop positive relationships that have been in the best interest of your children.

Unfortunately, this exciting journey is coming to an end sooner than I expected as I am getting ready to take on another adventure. I have truly enjoyed being a part of the Hampstead community. You have made me feel welcome and I have appreciated the outpouring of support.

My last day at Hampstead School will be Thursday May 1st. Although my successor has not yet been named, I am confident that they will come in with the same enthusiasm and excitement as I did in September.

Wishing you a wonderful end of the year as well as a restful summer,

Christina Chilelli

ACSES - Parent Workshop

March 31, 2014

Recent years have seen rapid development in interventions related to Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Asperger Syndrome (AS). However, programs incorporating themes related to interpersonal relationships and sexuality are very few in number, despite the pressing concerns of families and individuals affected by these conditions. The presentation will explore how intensive sex education can help individuals with ASD replace problem sexual behaviors with new appropriate behaviors that enhance social interaction and decrease inappropriate sexual encounters.

Fundraising for Grade 6 Camp

November 12, 2013

A special appeal to grade 6 parents:

At last week’s Governing Board Meeting, the PPO and teacher's fundraising efforts for the upcoming Grade 6 camp trip were discussed. We would like to appeal directly to the grade 6 parents to please consider volunteering their time to help with fundraising. There are lots of opportunities, from helping with the Scholastic Book Fair, Pizza days, etc. With a small amount of time and effort, a greater amount of money could be raised, which will benefit all of the Grade 6 students. Please contact Angela Casey (yesacedaz@sbcglobal.net) or myself Virginia Champoux  (champouxv@gmail.com) if you would like to help.
