Teachers:
Hi I'm Mme. Cloutier. I am a science teacher at John F. Kennedy. I've been involved with the robotics club for tow year now. Even thought it's time consuming and a lot of work I LOVE it. The part I enjoyed the most this year is a 2 and half hour trip to Reno depot with the students. The ideas these students have are incredible.
Hi my name is Mr. Hatch, and I'm the technical facilitator here at JFK. One might suppose that I joined because of my superior technical abilities (joking), but in reality it was because of my love and compassion for the students I work with. Constructing the robot has been an exciting journey, and while it has been a pleasure and a treat to watch everyone grow and mature into young adults, I can't claim sole responsibility for their transformation. I'm proud to know that all involved were able to develop skills for their future.
Mr. Masters
Mr. Sutherland - I helped out with the design and building of the robot. Congratulations to all students and staff involved for a job well done!
Mr. Moumen
Students:
David Lieu - I joined the robotics club because in the back of my mind I like to build and work with friends. I also joined because I heard my friend AJ was in it **cough, cough**. During my time in the robotics club I have learned that cooperation is very useful in-group work. I have also learned that teachers have good side too. My time in the robotics club was great and I am hoping for an even better future in the competition.
Eddy Bui - I joined the robotics club because I was curious on how robots work. The thing I was curious more on was how the robot moves. Also because I like to build and putting things together. While I was in robotics I have learned how to make movies. Also techniques on build on robots. I enjoyed putting the experience of robots.
Quân Manh Nguyen - Hello my name is Quan. I joined the robotics club because I knew it would greatly improve my skills in technology. Joining the robotics has made more aware of my skills. I've learned to be more knowledgeable in all things electronical. I've improved on my leadership skill. I learn to use many resources that the school has to offer. I plan to take advantage of all resources the school has to offer.
Christopher Tyo Rodi - My name is Christopher . I am 14 years old, I am in secondary 3 and I am currently an honor roll student. I joined the robotics club in order to learn how and to build a robot for competition uses. At first, I had thought that we would only be building a robot, later I discovered that we would be also building and designing a kiosk for presentation which is what I really want to do. My dream is to be an architect and I am going to design this kiosk which is sort of architectural work, but I also like making the video because its fun to edit it. So far we are all getting along and having fun while we build this robot.
Steven - Hi, my name is Steven. Over the past few years, I’ve shown a clear interest in electronics and creation. Upon entering John F. Kennedy High School, the robotics team was a clear choice for me as it would incorporate two of my passions, electronics, and the creation of a robot. I’ve joined only a week ago because I'm a new student at JFK; however I’ve been getting a true sense as to what the goal of the robotics team is and the essence of its creation. This has been a true team effort, a culmination of excellent ideas and a high level of craftsmanship has rendered the product you see today. I’ve learnt about the expression of ideas, and teamwork in addition to learning the essential skills required in building a robot with peers. However we’re not done yet, there is still much work to be completed and many obstacles to overcome, but our goal is success, victory, and most importantly, to have fun.
Robert Kreslin - My name is Robret Kreslin. I am thirteen years old and I'm attending John F. Kennedy. Why I decided to join the robotics club at John F. Kennedy is because it's interesting and also is a good place to use your skill of writing, editing, creating a website or artwork. My position in Kennedy robotics is video, which was also my position in the 2007 competition. I enjoy it because you get to use a video camera to film John F. Kennedy, the different rooms, the teachers, supervisors and the principal. What I experienced during my time in the robotics club is how to hold a video camera properly with a tripod and how to edit everything you filmed. I hope this year Kennedy Robotics will have less problems than last year; I also hope more people will join the robotics club.
Nadia Gileva - My name is Nadia. I'm come from St. Petersburg, Russia. I live in Montreal now for 6 months. This is my first time I joined the robotics club and I like it very much. I met new people. Learned more about robotics and the website part. It was really fun and interesting.
Mayooran Sivapathasundaron - My name is Mayooran. I am four-teen years old. I am in sec three. I am not that good in technology. And since I joined the robotics team Mr. Hatch has thought me some awesome stuff about technology
