Accounting -- 1350 Hours

It consists of 23 modules that range in time from 30 to 75 hours each.

The majority of our teachers have business experience outside of teaching. Some have professional designations. Others continue to work in their field of expertise while teaching.

Most courses include extensive use of computer software such as Excel and Simply Accounting. Excel is perhaps the most used software in the accounting field, second only to the accounting software itself.

Most classes are conducted with a combination of lectures, examples and practical situations. What you learn is what is done in practice.

Students are expected to participate in class and group discussions. The way students approach the course is reflected in their success. Students are expected to conduct themselves as if they were in the work place. Tardiness, rudeness and idleness are not tolerated at JFK Business Centre.

The program will enable a candidate to enter the work force in an entry level position in the accounting field. The job opportunities are many and varied. The average starting salary is approximately $25,000.

This program requires a one year commitment. It can be a stepping stone to future studies at university. Some of our students pursue accounting degrees and designations at McGill or Concordia Universities. Some start at entry level positions and climb the latter of success. Others follow the Starting a Business program and become self employed bookkeepers. Your success is limited only by your imagination.
