We Create Change Tour - Spencer West's inspirational visit to LMAC

On Thursday April 24th, Laurier Macdonald High school along with Michelangelo Elementary school welcomed Mr. Spencer West from the Me to We Free the Children Campaign.

Spencer spoke to students about his journey from losing his legs from the pelvis down at the age of five to last year, when he climbed, and summited, Mount Kilimanjaro using his hands and wheelchair.

Spencer West is a top-ranked keynoter, author of the best-selling book Standing Tall: My Journey, and star of the documentary Redefine Possible: The Story of Spencer West, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2012.

Masters of ceremonies were LMAC students Stefania Restagno, who is leading a movement against girl-on-girl bullying and Pamela Pagano, 2014 winner of Ms. Teen Quebec, currently visiting elementary schools to talk about disordered eating, stereotypes and bullying.

Students were also privileged in meeting Canadian pop-rock band Neverest.

Laurier Macdonald High School has committed itself to adopt at least 2 villages by the end of 2015 which amounts to over $20,000 worth of donations for educating children around the world.
