ABOUT lAURIER MACDONALD

Our Mission

Our school's mission is to that of an inclusive community committed to the achievement of student excellence within a dynamic global landscape. Personal and academic accomplishment is developed through creative thought, rigorous intellectual inquiry, the ideal of citizenship and deepening respect for oneself and others.

Success is promoted through the teaching and exploration of multiple literacies, the Visual arts and Multimedia Program, Community Learning Centre, and the diversification of learning pathways; an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program, Bilingual Studies or a Core English syllabus. The variety of curricular frameworks is organized to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population.

Management and Educational Success Agreement

In order for the school and the school board to comply with the Education Act article 209.2(1)(2)(3)(4), the school board and school must sign a Management and Educational Success Agreement (M.E.S.A). This must be done annually.

This Agreement outlines the commitments made by the school board and the school to achieve their mission of successfully instructing, qualifying and socializing students. The Management and Educational Success Agreement defines the school role in supporting the school board objectives and targets for student success, within the school board strategic plan and in line with the Ministère de l’Éducation, des Loisirs et du Sport goals.

Community Learning Centre

Community Learning Centres are partnerships that provide a range of services and activities, often beyond the school day, to help meet the needs of learners, their families, and the wider community. Their aim is to support the holistic development of citizens and communities.
