The LDVA Student Council is made up of grade 6 students that want to create a positive climate of citizenship and belonging among the student body. The students on this council work diligently on helping to maintain our Brundtland Status by empowering their peers to live by its four pillars: Ecology, Peace, Solidarity and Democracy.
The Student Council has taken it upon themselves to set positive examples through modelling and creating experiences that allow positive citizenship among the entire student population.
The LDVA Student Council students make weekly announcements, visit classrooms with important messages, prompt safe and fair play in the schoolyard during recess, acknowledge random acts of kindness with "Gotcha" pictures and certificates, help teachers to monitor recess line up while reinforcing line up procedures, and give assistance to classroom teachers when implementing various projects. This council will also assist in ensuring the smooth running of school fundraisers, food drives, Open House Tours, and school assemblies.
In addition, the Student Council will post important LDVA news and past, present, and future events on their board, as well they will including interesting facts they learn about our school and the community we live in.
The Student Council hopes their efforts and presence truly makes LDVA the place to be! Please visit their Council Board frequently to see what they are up to.
