Student Movement for Change

A month has passed since the attack on Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and the movement for change initiated by students keeps gaining ground. A march of support has been organized by Lexington Vickery, an EMSB elementary school student.

The walk will take place on Saturday, March 24th at 10:0 a.m. Walkers will assemble in the south-west corner of Westmount Park at Avenue Lansdowne and Boulevard De Maisonneuve at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24th. The walk will commence at 10:30 a.m. The route will proceed through the park, past Westmount Park Elementary school, east on rue Sainte-Catherine, past Westmount High School to Avenue Atwater, north on Avenue Atwater, west on Boulevard De Maisonneuve and finally into Dawson College.

The route was worked out in conjunction with the Station 12 commander and Westmount Public Security and they will both be escorting the march and closing roads during the march.

Parking near the assembly area is very limited so public transit is recommended.

The 90 and 63 buses stop less than a 2-minute walk away at rue Sainte-Catherine and Avenue Lansdowne.

The 24, 104 and 138 buses stop 2-minute walk away at rue Sherbrooke and Avenue Lansdowne.

The Vendome metro is a 10-minute walk along Boulevard De Maisonneuve.

Dawson is connected to the Atwater metro.
