Final Report Card Pick-Up

Student Council

The report card pick up date is scheduled on Monday, June 26th, 2017 for all students. The pick-up times are as follows:

  • 09:00 - 09:45: Secondary 1
  • 09:45 - 10:30: Secondary 2
  • 10:30 - 11:15: Secondary 3
  • 11:15 - 12:00: Secondary 4
  • 12:00 - 12:45: Secondary 5

Final Exam Schedules (Secondary 5)

Exams

The Secondary 5 French Comprehension Final Exam is scheduled on May 16, 2017 and the Secondary 5 French Written Final Exam is scheduled for June 6, 2017.

The Secondary 5 English Language Arts Final Exam is scheduled on May 23rd 24th and 25th, 2017.

These are provincial ministry exams, therefore, it is of utmost importance that your child be in school for these three days. There will be no make-up day for missed exam days, and any absence will result in a mark of zero. Medical notices will be accepted by the school but are not guaranteed to be accepted by the Ministry.

Recently our STM colleagues have spoken to the school’s administration concerning the behaviour of some of our students on the Special/Express busses. Please read the memo below and speak to your children about appropriate behaviour while travelling on public transit.

Snow Day & Last Day of Classes

Following the snow day of the EMSB on March 15th, 2017, the May 19th Ped Day scheduled on our school calendar will now be a regular school day, Day 2.

The last day of classes for students before the start of exams is June 8th, 2017. The school calendar approved last year has the last 4 days of the school cycle missing.

On March 31st LBP will be hosting our final dance of the school year!

Students are invited to come out with their friends and make new memories that will last a lifetime! The beautiful lights and sounds await!

Tickets go on sale next week for 5$ each for students and 8$ each for guests from another school.

All students are allowed to sponsor one visitor from another high school. Both students and sponsored guests must return their consent forms signed at the time of payment.

LPBHS Winter Carnival - February 2017

We are happy to inform you that this year, our students from levels 1 to 5 will have the opportunity to take part in indoor and outdoor winter activities as part of our annual Winter Carnival. The activities will take place on Friday February 24th, 2017.

We are encouraging all students to take part in one of the following proposed activities and would appreciate your encouragement as well. This is a great opportunity to enjoy and come together as a school for a fun filled day in the snow!

Holiday Food & Toy Drive Competition

The holiday season is here, and the LBPHS community will once again be collecting spare change, food and toys to donate to underpriviliged families in the Montreal area.

This year’s food drive is a competition between levels, donate food & gain points for your level, donate change to set back a competing level. There will be bins with your level on them for the next 2 weeks in the plaza in the mornings. The winning level will win free hot cocoa & cookies for their grade. One lucky student from the winning grade will be randomly selected to win a pair of red zone tickets to see the Habs Vs Rangers in January. More prizes may be added shortly.

Vaccinations for Secondary 3 Students

Student Council

Vaccinations for HPV, TdaP and Men-C as well as any standard vaccines that students are missing will be offered to Secondary 3 students on December 5th and 6th, 2016.

It is recommended to bring your vaccination record/booklet to school on that day so that the vaccinations administered can be entered into it. A health insurance card is not required.

Live Different - Coming to LBPHS

Student Council

Student Council has invited Live Different to come speak to LBP for a sixth year.

The presentation theme for this year “Fix The Focus: Choosing empathy first,” We are in control of the influences we invite into our lives, and we are alike than we are different.

No King For Countrymen is the band that is touring with the speakers this year. They are a vocally driven pop-folk trio. You can find them on facebook if you would like to check them out in advance. They will be selling merchandise following the presentation.

An Evening With Portage - Nov 9

Open House

The Laurier Macdonald HS CLC is pleased to invite all parents to an evening of information and recognition of the early signs of drug and alcohol dependence and abuse.

Portage is a non-profit organization that provides complete rehabilitation treatment to substance-dependent people and their families.

We Scare Hunger Campaign

Honour Roll

Throughout the month of October we will be collecting food items in the plaza area, we will have a non-uniform day in exchange for the donation of one food item on October 31st and we are excited to announce our fourth annual walkathon to end hunger in our community. Walkers would solicit pledges ahead of the event and food items would be collected in advance by students in our plaza as well as at the start and finish of the
event.

Laugh With Your Heart - Oct 14

We all need a good laugh once and a while! Why not make a date and LOL for a good cause at the Laugh With Your Heart comedy show! Proceeds from this event will help support earthquake victims in Italy.

Graduation Instructions - June 23

The Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2017, will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Theatre de la Ville (180 rue de Gentilly, Longueuil) at 7 P.M. In order to prepare for the ceremony all students are obliged to attend the rehearsal beginning at 1:15 P.M.

The June 2017 final exams for secondary 1 to 4 students will take place from June 6th to 16th, 2017.

The Secondary 4 English Language Arts Final Exam is scheduled on June 5th (Part 1) and June 12th (Part 2).

Grad Hoodies for Sale

Student Council has designed the class of 17 Grad Hoodies and we will be collecting those orders on December 14th to 16th at lunch.

The black t-shirt and hoodie combo will be sold for $50. The Grad Hoodie Committee members will be there to receive orders and for students to sign the grad hoodie template (the “17”).

Hello Pearson students! The second Dance of the year will be held on Friday, December 9.

Come to our very own Pearson Fest and don't miss out on a night with your friends! Create memories and remember them by taking pictures at the photo booth that includes props which is free of charge.

Tickets will be going on sale November 28 and 29th at lunch for $8.00 in the plaza (tickets will not be sold at the door). Drinks and snacks will also be available for sale for 1$ or 2$ each. Come dance the night away!

Student council has once again designed hoodies and tees to help promote school spirit. This hoodie is NOT part of the Lester B. Pearson uniform, it is to promote pride in our school.

Choices are maroon or navy blue, the t-shirt is $15.00 and the hoodie is $25.00.

Orders will be collected on November 17 and 18 in the plaza.

Opus Card Photos - Sep 23

Opus STM

he OPUS Tour will be stopping by LBPHS on Friday, September 23rd from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

If the expiry date on a student’s photo OPUS card is October 31, 2016, or if a student does not already have a card, he or she can obtain one at the photo session.

Please visit the links below for a list of documents you must bring with you to the photo session and to download the application form.

Students who are unable to attend the photo session must go to the STM photo studio located at 1717 Berri, inside the bus terminal (Gare d’autocars de Montréal), at Berri-UQAM metro station.
