On Saturday July 14th Student Council will be holding a car wash at the Canadian Tire on boulevard Henri Bourassa from 9:00am- 5:00pm. Each car will be washed for 5$ and we will be collecting donations while we bag at their cashes as well. All proceeds will support our leadership program.
PROM 2018 is on June 26 and tickets go on sale on May 22, see Mrs. Girardello or Mrs. Morabito to pay and reserve your place!

Every year, the EMSB partners with the Montreal Alouette’s in order to offer a game to our families at a reduced rate, with a small return to the school.
The Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2018, will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the Theatre de la Ville (150 rue de Gentilly, Longueuil) at 7 P.M. In order to prepare for the ceremony all students are obliged to attend the rehearsal. The itinerary for the day is listed attached below.
The Secondary 5 students have final exams taking place during the month of May, which are part of the official final exam period. Please note these exams are provincial ministry exams (with the exception of the FLM writing exam), therefore it is of utmost importance that your child be in school on that day. There will be no make-up day for missed exam days, and any absence will result in a mark of zero. ONLY MEDICAL NOTICES WILL BE ACCEPTED BUT NOT GUARANTEED TO BE ACCEPTED BY THE MINISTRY.

We are excited to announce that our Student Council has designed the class of 2018 Grad Hoodies and we will be collecting orders on December 4th & 5that lunch. The black t-shirt and hoodie combo will be sold for $45 and you will also be able to add on a long-sleeved t-shirt if you would like.
The Grad Hoodie Committee members will be there to receive orders and for students to sign the back template (the “18”).
Students will be permitted to wear the grad hoodies/t-shirts/long-tees in class upon delivery in late January.

The Ministère de l’Éducation, de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche is undertaking a pilot project
to formalize learning content related to sexuality education in elementary and secondary schools.
We are pleased to announce that our school is one of the schools chosen for the pilot project. Students
will receive from 5 to 15 hours of sexuality education every year.

As a part of graducation traditions, Jostens will be at Lester B Pearson for three days to take orders for graduation rings. Please look over the catalogue for prices and sizes. The company will be on site November 8th, 9th and 13th.

The OPUS Tour will be stopping by LBPHS on Friday, September 22nd from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Each year, you must renew your photo OPUS card to pay the reduced fare for students when riding the bus and métro. LBP will be visited by the Opus photographers on September 22nd 2017.

This is to inform you that the STM has notified us that they are presently functioning with a smaller fleet of busses. As a result, our school bus service may be affected for our students. Please note that if late busses arrive at school, students will not be penalized as we have done in the past. We will be notified by the STM when a late bus arrives so we can excuse our students due to their inconvenience. Anything outside of STM excused busses will be considered late.
Our trip to La Ronde is planned for next Thursday June 7th. Hopefully the weather will be on our side! Students should arrive at school by 8:30 and be dressed appropriately for the weather that day. Please check the weather forecast the night before. We recommend to students to wear a hat, have sunblock, and dress in layers.
We will be the boarding the buses to go to La Ronde once attendance is taken at school and will leaving to return home from La Ronde at 5:00 pm. Depending on traffic, we should arrive back at school between 6:00 and 6:30pm.

Student Council’s indoor seedling committee will be having a seedling sale on Tuesday May 22nd & Wednesday May 23rd from 2:45-4:00 in front of the administration door. (Outside on PM Favier weather permitting) Come get yourself some fresh, organic veggies and herbs grown right here in LBP. Veggies are $3 (4 for 10$) and herbs are $2 (3 for 5$).
Attention LBP artists, our final coffee house of the year will be taking place on Thursday May 17th. Come showcase your talent in a supportive and low key environment. You can sign up to perform or come and watch the show all through next week in the plaza.
Anyone wishing to apply for student council both new and returning members can pick up application packages in the student council room or at the main office.
The deadline to apply is May 7th. You could be the next school president, vice president or member at large.

This event has been a tradition at LBP for the past 38 years and we take pride in having raised over 500 000$ thanks to your support and generosity.
Remember that May 4th is a regular school day and all students are expected to be present in school.

In the wake of the tragic crash that occurred this past weekend in Saskatchewan involving the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team, Lester B. Pearson High School is encouraging students, faculty and staff to join a cross-Canada initiative by wearing a sports jersey to school on Thursday, April 12 in return for a 2$ donation in support of their families.
Participation is optional, but if you choose to take part you must pay 2$, school pants are mandatory as always.
A month has passed since the attack on Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and the movement for change initiated by students keeps gaining ground. A march of support has been organized by Lexington Vickery, an EMSB elementary school student.
The walk will take place on Saturday, March 24th at 10:0 a.m. Walkers will assemble in the south-west corner of Westmount Park at Avenue Lansdowne and Boulevard De Maisonneuve at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24th. The walk will commence at 10:30 a.m. The route will proceed through the park, past Westmount Park Elementary school, east on rue Sainte-Catherine, past Westmount High School to Avenue Atwater, north on Avenue Atwater, west on Boulevard De Maisonneuve and finally into Dawson College.
The route was worked out in conjunction with the Station 12 commander and Westmount Public Security and they will both be escorting the march and closing roads during the march.
Parking near the assembly area is very limited so public transit is recommended.
The 90 and 63 buses stop less than a 2-minute walk away at rue Sainte-Catherine and Avenue Lansdowne.
The 24, 104 and 138 buses stop 2-minute walk away at rue Sherbrooke and Avenue Lansdowne.
The Vendome metro is a 10-minute walk along Boulevard De Maisonneuve.
Dawson is connected to the Atwater metro.

During our Ped Day on February 23rd, 2018, the Canadian Red Cross will be offering a Babysitting Course at Lester B.
Pearson High School that is designed to teach students the business of babysitting, how to handle themselves in an
interview, know if the job is right for them and how to care for infants up to school aged children (and/or brothers and
sisters). The course will be given by Ms. Chiara Calabrese, Certified Facilitator Canadian Red Cross.

Carnival Day will be held on February 20, 2018. The activities are: skiing, snowboarding, tubing, skating, escape room and mini putt. Please keep in mind that the activities have limited space so it is important to respect the due date. Payments will be collected the week of January 24-26. Please do not wait until the last minute.

Mid-Year Exam Schedule - January 2018
