Mackay Centre School

A Social Affairs School of the English Montreal School Board

Governing Board

Photo credit: HOPE The Governing Board is a structure that creates a partnership of parents and staff in the management of the school. The Governing Board is not involved in the day-to-day running of the school but works with the principal in setting and implementing policy directions for programmes and services that will meet the needs of the students and the community. It has the responsibility to ensure that every decision it makes is in the best interest of the students.

In September of every year, all parents of students who attend the school are invited to a general assembly to elect their representatives to the Governing Board. The Mackay Centre School Governing Board is composed of the Principal, four parents, four teachers and a community representative.
