NYNJ Robocup Competition 2011

Merton sent 13 students to New Jersey to compete in the NYNJ robocup Competition. Merton School brought home a first and third place prize. Congratulations to all students! You made us proud.

Quebec RoboCup Competition 2011
Merton School excelled in the 2011 Quebec Robocup Event again this year. They swept the Dance category with all three prizes and also took home the firsst place prize in the two on two soccer competition. Congratulations to all students, parent volunteers and Ms. Lisa Triestino.

Quebec RoboCup Competition 2010

Congratulations to our Science & Technology teacher, Lisa Triestino, the parent volunteers and all of the students who participated in the soccer and dance competitions at the 2010 Quebec RoboCup competition. They came home with two gold medals and two silver medals.

APEQ Teacher Award

Robotics Competition 2009

Congratulations to our Science & Technology teacher, Lisa Triestino, the parent volunteers and all of the students who participated in the soccer and dance competitions at the 2009 Quebec RoboCup held at St.Monica Elementary. They came home with one gold medal, two silver and a bronze medal. In addition, they took home the E.A.S.T Silver Cup Trophy as the "Best Overall School in their Achievements"

NEAT Award

Romolo (Molo) Finelli, our incredible gym teacher has been awarded the National Excellence Award for Teachers (NEAT) of junior kindergarten to Grade 6 by the Heritage Education Foundation. This award recognizes the impact that teacher can have on their students, inspiring a love of learning that can last a lifetime. NEAT awards acknowledge teachers who, through their dedication and use of innovative teaching approaches are enhancing the learning experience of the students in the early years of education. A recipient is selected annually from the five Canadian regions (British Columbia and the territories; the Prairies; Ontario; Quebec; and the Atlantic Provinces).

Robotics Competition 2008

Robocup 2008 Quebec: The Educational Alliance for Science & Technology

"The Robocup Junior is the primary Montreal-area Robotics competition for students under 18 years, allowing students form all over the province to compete in challenging events that feature autonomous programmable Robots".

Congratulations to our student competition teams, the Science & Technology specialist, Ms Lisa Triestino, Sara Iatauro and our school parents for their multiple wins. For several months, the students worked diligently on their dance and soccer projects. Their hard work and enthusiasm won them two grand prizes!
