Standards and Procedures are official documents pertaining to the evaluation of student learning. They provide a summary of the evaluation criteria for each subject, and the period during which exams are scheduled.
Vezina High School, an outstanding alternative to the regular classroom, offers high quality education in a warm, friendly and nurturing environment. With smaller classroom sizes, students in Secondary I, II and III have the opportunity to focus on academics and get assistance in areas with which they struggle. In addition to our dedicated teaching staff, tutors work one-on-one with students needing that extra little bit of help. As well, we offer a homework program before and after school. We have high standards and aim for excellence.
Every Vezina student is part of a larger community and plays an important role in its success. Focusing on the development of self-awareness and positive self-esteem through various non-academic subjects, students learn how to communicate with others, develop coping skills, and foster a greater sense of self and community. Our Special Care Counsellor, Guidance Counsellor, and Violence Intervention Specialist are an integral part of this process.
Our breakfast program is a great way to start the day. This along with our lunch program gives students the opportunity to learn about proper nutrition and how to prepare a healthy meal. We offer art and music therapy, as well as sexual health, drug, and mental health education. We team up with professionals in and around our community such as youth organizations and health clinics. Our goal is to meet the needs of every individual student.
