WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO ORDER VIDEOS OR DVDs

Our media collection and school library book information is stored in a database called “Regard”.

HOW TO ACCESS “REGARD”

Go to the EMSB website http://www.emsb.qc.ca
Click on “Services” at the top of the screen
Scroll down and click on “Pedagogical Services”
Click on “Media Centre” on the right side of the screen

You are now in “Regard”
Click on “Start Search”
Under Index click on the arrow beside “Global index”.
You may choose to look for a resource by 1) global index 2) subject 3) title index.
Use Global index if you do not specifically know subject or title. Enter any word which describes what you are looking for.
Do not type in any articles such as ‘THE’ ‘LE’ ‘LA’ or ‘LES’.
Example: type in ‘trees’ not ‘the trees’ or in French ‘arbres’ not ‘les arbres’.
To do a more focused search you may choose OR / AND / NOT to include or exclude certain criteria.

Second line and Canada

Regard will bring up a list of resources that contains the words heroes and Canada.

EXAMPLE:

To obtain more detailed information about a certain resource on the list, click on the (set of books) icon beside the title.

Should you wish to order this resource, click add to basket at the top of the screen and click on *BACK (at the top of the screen) to return to the original list.

*Do not use the BACK button of the explorer menu bar - you will be taken out of the EMSB site.

After you have placed the resources you want in the basket, print the basket.

Click the Basket (located on the left of the screen), File, and Print) and fax it to the Media Centre 487-0600 along with your name, school and when you wish to receive the resources. Expect a delay of 3 to 5 days, due to preparation time and transportation schedules.

All resources are loaned out for 15 working days, but should you wish to have them longer please indicate until what date in your fax. You may always reserve a resource for a specific day and length of time.

The Media Centre will fax a confirmation of your request indicating when to expect delivery. Should you not receive our confirmation, please call the Media Centre at 483-7200 extension #7215 OR #7223

Alternately, you can e-mail the Media Centre media@emsb.qc.ca and make your request. We will e-mail you a confirmation. If you do not receive a confirmation, please fax your request as per above.
