There are many places the Rod Roy ski school skis at, for example: the older kids go to hills like Mont-Tremblant, Sugarbush, Mont-Avila etc. The younger kids go to hills like Mont-Olympia Chantecler, Gray Rocks etc.

The Rod Roy ski school is offered to people ages 4 and up.

When the school goes on trips the older people leave at about 7:00 a.m. and come back at about 6:00 p.m.. The younger people leave at about 8:00 a.m. and come back at about 5:00 p.m.. The skiing starts in December and ends whenever spring skiing is done.

For the students, the ski trips take place on the weekends and for the adults, it's on Sundays, Tuesdays and on Wednesdays.

Although Rod Roy doesn't have a racing team, sometimes the younger kids take place in obstacle courses.

Not only does Rod Roy offer their program to skiers but to snowboarders as well.

Rod Roy has different levels of skiing from beginner to expert.

There is no special uniform, although the younger kids wear pinnies and the staff wears a two piece red and green suit. There's also a special badge and membership card which allows you to get discounts at certain ski hills and sport stores.
At the moment (April 2000) there are 100 instructors at Rod Roy and 40 participants. The number of people allowed to be involved is based on the number of seats on the bus.

The cost for a full year is $450.00.

Equipment is not provided but Rod Roy recommends parabolic Rossignol, Atomic or Dynastar skis.

The Rod Roy ski school was opened in 1962 and the population in the organization has increased considerably.
People of all ages from Beaconsfield and surrounding communities benefit from the programs that Rod Roy has to offer. We (Amanda and Katie) agree that Rod Roy is a great, fun, and worth while organization. It's also reasonably priced and efficient, considering transportation is provided and the bus makes stops in Baie d'Urfe, Beaconsfield, Kirkland, Dollard des Ormeaux, Dorval, Pierrefonds/Ile Bizard, Chomedy/Laval, St. Laurent, Town of Mount Royal, Snowdon, Westmount, Cote St Luc and Montreal West, N.D.G., Hudson, Pincourt, Lasalle, Nun's Island, Outremont, and St-Leonard.
