BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER

***THE FIRST THREE PAGES MUST BE LEARNED! This will be testing material after Open House. ***

Pure vowels only please. Take out “r” when necessary and no dipthongs. (Example: When youah wea-reh) Think British.

Altos: you can do it! You just need more confidence and volume. Regular practice will help you.

Tenors: you will not get those high F’s if you don’t have the air behind it. You were all able to get it before, so I know you can do it. Remember, do not spread your vowels and make them HORIZONTAL; this just puts pressure on the larynx. Aim for a VERTICAL vowel and give lots of air!

blend with other voice parts.

-Basses/Baritones: LEARN YOUR INDIVIDUAL PART AND STAY ON IT! You are the foundation for our choir so we need lots of sound

Sing with the MIDI files that are posted above and listen to the recording. It will help you greatly!

SONG OF THE SEA

-again, PURE vowels (drop all “r’s”

-Gentlemen: learn the first section as it is sung SOLI

-Ladies: please learn your parts at your entrance.

Don’t wait for the coaches to help you learn your parts! You are able to memorize songs by your favourite artists; you can learn three songs! The MIDI files for Song of the Sea will be posted shortly.
