Roslyn offers an enriched environment
with programs and activities that meet
the interests of almost every child. We are very pleased that
you are interested
in having your child attend Roslyn Elementary School and are
happy to try and
answer any questions that you might have.

For children entering kindergarten
If your child is eligible for English language education and is ready
to start kindergarten, we invite you to attend one of our information
sessions shown below to find out more about the great programs and resources
we offer.
Information sessions are held in October and usually take place from
10 am to noon. The exact date for the 2011 Open House will be posted
as soon as it becomes available.
We also invite you to our open house in the spring on Thursday, May
26 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm where you can tour the school, meet the principal
and teachers and ask questions and see the work that students have done
over the year.
You can find more information to help you determine if your child is
eligible for English language education on the web site of the English
Montreal School Board, of which Roslyn is a part. If you need help in
understanding if your child is eligible or in filling out the request
forms, the EMSB will help you. There is a fee that is refundable if
your child enrolls in an EMSB school.
For children entering grades 1 through 6
If your family is new to Montreal and your child is eligible for English
language education, please call us and make an appointment to meet the
principal and discuss how we can assist the transition of your child
to Roslyn.
We accept children at the start of the school year and at any time during
the school year.
Roslyn’s classes in kindergarten through grade 2 are taught in French
only.
From grade 3 through to grade 6, children study in 50% English and 50%
French.
Because Roslyn offers a full immersion French language program, we also
offer assistance for children who are moving from out-of-province schools
to help them gain the needed language skills quickly.
