Good to know...
• The Dress Code is a part of our school pride.
Roslyn students wear their choice of navy blue tunic, skirt, jumper,
slacks or jogging pants (no jeans); navy cardigan, pullover or sweatshirt
(no logos); and solid white or pale blue blouse, shirt, turtleneck or
t-shirt. Roslyn t-shirts are required for physical education classes
and school outings.
• School hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Kindergarten students
are released 10 minutes earlier at the end of the day. Students are
not to be left unattended in the school yard before 9 a.m. The Westmount
Y provides before-school supervision at the school gym for a fee.
• Pickup & Drop-off is on Grosvenor Ave., north of the school yard.
Students who bike to school must lock their bikes to the rack on Grosvenor
Ave.
• Bussing is provided for Kindergarteners who live more than 0.6 km
away and Grade 1 to 6 students who live more than 1.4 km away. Accommodation
bussing is provided on a case-by-case basis. During the month of August,
entitled students receive a bus pass from the School Board. Please tie
it to your child’s school bag.
• Daycare Bussing is available to after school for students going to
St. Columba House, Tyndale, St. Georges, and Centre Greene.
• Access to Roslyn for parents and visitors is permitted through the
front door only. All persons must sign in for a visitor’s pass. During
school hours all other doors remain locked. An appointment is required
if you wish to meet with a staff member.
• Lunches are eaten in the lunch room under the supervision of monitors.
This is not a cafeteria.
• Children can bring lunch from home or if you prefer, hot lunches are available each day through Merenda, an EMSB-approved caterer.
Meranda offer reasonably priced and healthy menus. Hot lunches are delivered to the lunch room. Order forms are sent out periodically.
• Pizza lunch is offered by Home and School 17
times a year and is Roslyn's biggest fundraiser. Order forms are sent
out in September.
• After school activities offer a broad range of subjects and activities
for your child. Children registered for activities starting at 4:35
p.m. will automatically be enrolled in the After-School Supervision
program. For your child to take part in these after-school activities,
families must join Quebec Home and School Association at a cost of $20
per family. This covers the cost of insurance for each child.
