This term the two grade three classes worked on a stop motion animation project. Initially the students were asked to research an animal of interest. Following this, they focused on a distinct characteristic and came up with brief interview questions and responses. Using their questions, they recorded their voices with Adobe Spark either independently or with a partner. In class, they used their artistic skills to create realistic backgrounds to showcase their animal’s habitat. Based on their research, they also created model animals out of plasticine.
Once these steps were complete the children used iPads to make a short animated cycle of their animals talking which were then imported to iMovie. Lastly, the students synchronized their animated cycles with their soundtrack to the best of their abilities.
