ROBOTICS CLUB

Every Wednesday from 2:30 to 4:30 the senior robotics club meet after school. In the first semester we exploring what we could do with the Lego Simple Machines Kit and in the second semester we learned how to program with the Lego EV3 sets.

We made catapults, dogs, cars and various mechanical toys using the simple machine lego kits. The students used ipads to document their work using "Explain Everything". I haven't edited anything, so what you see is the creative process of the students learning how to document their technical journey. Please excuse the spelling mistakes.

SUMO DERBY WRESTLING COMPETITION
WITH EV3 ROBOTS

In the second semester we entered the Zone 1 Robotics competition for Derby Sumo Wrestling. Mr. Allan Grant generously offered to help the students program and build their bots for the event. This was pretty advanced programming and we spent a long time trying to figure out the variables. We had a mini competition in class for first, second and third place, and seven students went to the Zone 1 Championship. Click here to see pictures of the event.
