The scholarship Committee of Delta Kappa Gamma Quebec Province has awarded the 2011 Evelyn Eaton Award to St. Gabriel Elementary School in Pointe St. Charles. The committee selected the St. Gabriel School Theatre Project, submitted by teacher Karima Tabbi and consultant Marie-Andrée Veilleux. The members were impressed with the focus of the project and its goal of producing a play involving students from Cycles 1 to Cycle 3. The use of drama as a tool to develop oral competency in a second language will engage children to speak French and develop fluency and expand their vocabulary.
