Air Purifiers in Schools

The EMSB is proceeding with the installation of air purifiers in classrooms that are not equipped with mechanical ventilation systems. We have ordered a little over 800 units and have completed all electrical and installation preparatory work needed for installation. To date, we have received 330 units and they have been installed accordingly. Depending on delivery delays we are scheduled to complete the installation of all units by the end of January.

This initiative, which is estimated to cost $1.75 million, is being financed by the EMSB.

Travel Measures

Although travelling is strongly discouraged, should your child have to travel outside of Canada, please be reminded that the quarantine period before returning to school is 14 days.

Kindly note that we will not be providing students who return from travel with online instruction. In addition, we would like to remind parents that as per the directives from the MEQ:

  • Only students who have been ordered to self-isolate following a positive result while in school will receive pedagogical services and/or assignments from their teachers

Kindly keep these directives in mind when planning for travel.
