The CSSS works in partnership with the school for all health-related concerns. Representatives from the CSSS regularly take part in orientation sessions for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students.
Social services provided by the Cavendish Health and Social Services Centre (CSSS):
Registered Nurse
The school nurse is available to provide consultation, screening, prevention, vaccinations, referral and health/vaccination records for students.
Dental Hygienist
The dental hygienist provides information, consultation and prevention information pertaining to dental care and hygiene for students.
Social Worker
A social worker is assigned to the school on a part-time basis. The role of the social worker is particularly important in the area of family intervention or counselling.
