Public Speaking and Debating

Description

• Skill-based program offering participants preparation for future high school debating clubs
• Program focuses on developing the following skills: public speaking, researching for valid and reliable sources, note taking, organizing information, writing persuasive arguments to support the chosen stance, critical thinking, listening, and teamwork.

Criteria for Selection

• Grades 5 and 6,
• Avid readers, great debaters and/or class performers, strong learners across disciplines,
• Achieving high grades (above 90%), 
• Personal interest to participate.
