What's New at Sinclair Laird

Volunteer Week

April 13th to 17th is Volunteer Appreciation Week.  Many thanks to all our volunteers for their dedication, hard work and many years of service to the school, making it a wonderful place for all.  Thank you!

PPO Book Sale

The PPO will be holding a special first time book sale on Thursday, April 16th in the morning. We have books for juniors and seniors, many books for 25 cents. Anyone who buys a book has a chance to win a special prize!

Spring Concert

The Spring Concert "Le mystère de la forêt enchantée: 2015" will be held on Wednesday April 22nd at 10:30 a.m.  The performances will be done by students from grades 3-6.  There will also be a Bollywood presentation at intermission.  All parents are invited to attend. 

Toy Drive

If you have toys that are looking for a new home, you can donate them to a great cause, the PPO's upcoming Toy sale in May. The PPO will collect gently used toys, games, puzzles, stuffed animals, dolls, cars, etc... The toys should be in good condition, no missing pieces or broken parts. They can be dropped off in the box in front of the reception.

Important Information

Homestay Families for Exchange Students

We would like to invite families interested in being hosts to exchange students (between 2015-09-14 and 2015-10-09) to attend an information session at the school. In order to get a full immersion experience we would like to place them in families with children from grades 3 to 6. If you are interested please come to the school on April 14th at 2:00 where you will get more information and any questions you may have will be answered.

Emergency Shutdown

In the event of a total or partial shutdown of the system (schools/centers and or the E.M.S.B. building) due to inclement weather, adverse road conditions, or other emergency conditions, school closings will be broadcasted in the morning on all local radio and television stations and on the E.M.S.B. information hotline at 514-798-5606, the school board website at or twitter @englishmtl.
