Elementary school teams from Gardenview in St. Laurent, Pierre de Coubertin in St. Leonard, Dunrae Gardens in TMR and host Roslyn in Westmount competed at the Battle of Books (BOTB) Competition on May 19 – the first time the EMSB has held a Battle of the Books Junior Event.
The gifted and enhanced learning team, as part of the EMSB Student Services department, implemented a varied and inspiring enrichment program in the areas of math, science, and English Language Arts during the 2022/2023 academic year. The EMSB stands alone within the Greater Montreal Area in terms of making enhanced learning opportunities available to high achieving and gifted students.
At the start of this last school year, Gifted and Exceptional Learners Consultant Dr. Camelia Birlean sought to meet the needs of bright and talented students across the English Montreal School Board network by providing enrichment initiatives and acceleration strategies inside and outside the classroom. It proved to be a resounding success.
