We are thrilled to hear that you have selected Bancroft School as your child(ren)’s elementary school. We look forward to having you join our family.

How do I register?

If you are interested in registering your child(ren) for the 2023-2024 school year, the dates to register are as follows:

Our regular Elementary School Registration week is between January 30 to February 3, 2023.

If you already have a child registered in our school, please make an appointment during the sibling registration dates indicated above.

To register for Kindergarten, We ask that you book an appointment using our online reservation system through the following link.

Online Kindergarten spot reservation links will be available on January 23, 2023 at 7 a.m.

Reserve a spot for Kindergarten at Bancroft Elementary School

Once you have registered online for your child, we will be contacting you for an in-person appointment at Bancroft School to complete the registration.

Parents who are interested in registering their child(ren) at Bancroft School should contact us for information about eligibility and programs. Bancroft School also registers new students throughout the school year, however, acceptance depends on classroom availability and area of residence.

What documents are needed to register your child?

In order to qualify for English instruction in Quebec public schools, students must meet certain eligibility criteria under the Charter of the French Language as set out by the Quebec government.

When you come to register at the school, please bring all the following documents to ensure that you will obtain your child’s Certificate of Eligibility. The school will then apply for the Certificate of Eligibility and you will receive it in the mail. You must return to the school with your original Certificate of Eligibility to validate your registration with the school board.

Child born in Quebec:

  • Long Birth Certificate
  • Birth Certificate of Parent
  • Medical Card
  • COE (Certificate of Eligibility) either parent or sibling
  • Vaccination booklet

Child born in Canada outside Quebec:

  • Long version of birth certificate
  • Birth Certificate of Parent
  • Medical card
  • Child on temporary status (parents with Work Permits)
  • Long version Birth Certificate (translated if necessary)
  • Parents' valid Work Permit
  • Child valid Study Permit or Visitors Permit
  • Passport
  • COE (Certificate of Eligibility)

Child on temporary stay (parents with Study Permit)

  • Long version Birth Certificate (translated if necessary)
  • Parents' valid Study Permit/CAQ (Certificat de d'acception du Quebec)
  • Student valid Visitor or Study permit
  • Passport
  • COE (Certificate of Eligibility
*Please note that all the documents and information have to be brought to your registration appointment to ensure that you receive your child’s Certificate of Eligibility as soon as possible.
