Dearest P.E.T. Families,

Thank you to all parents who joined us for our Orientation Session this year. Please contact your child’s teacher should you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you to all parents and staff who attended the Annual General Assembly whereby we voted in the parents to represent the PET Governing Board. I would like to congratulate and welcome all our newly elected parent members to our Governing Board: Mark Carras, Victoria Grosko, Christi Milsom, and Sandra Gabriele. Returning parent members are Darcy Kiefer, Geoff Nairn, and Evelyn Tsang. Congratulations to Ms. Grosko for accepting the role of Parent Representative, and Ms Milsom, as the Alternate Delegate, on the Regional Parents’ Committee. I would also like to congratulate Ms. Gabriele, who was elected Chairperson of our Governing Board. Our staff members on Governing Board are: (teachers) Ms Nadia Di Mattia, Ms Melinda Franceschini, Ms Dina Simec, Ms Carissa Valente & Ms Patty Foschi/Mr Maxime Mallette-Champoux; (Daycare) Ms Mara Filippone, and (Support) Ms Mary De Palma-Nitti. We are still looking for Community Reps, so if you know of someone, please direct them to me. If you would like to attend a Governing Board meeting or address any concerns, you can email petrudeaugb@emsb.qc.ca At the AGA, we voted to have a PPO (Parents Participation Organization). IF you would like to join PPO, please see the next page. Thank you all for volunteering your time! I look forward to a wonderful and productive year with our Governing Board, PPO and with our school community! There are monthly meetings for Governing Board and PPO.

Thank you to our PPO members for an amazing Fun Day! Our students and staff loved the inflatables, dunk tank and Beavertail truck! This one-day event cost almost $7000 and was paid for by monies raised through fundraisers.

Our Terry Fox Run was a great success! Students and staff ran with passion and intent for loved ones in the hopes of finding a cure. We raised $714 that will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation. Thank you for your generosity.

Thank you to all students and staff who wore their orange shirt on September 29th, Truth and Reconciliation Day, showing our commitment that everyone matters. May we all focus on the hope for a better future in which children are empowered to support, encourage, and help one another.
There are many items in our lost and found. It is very important that you label all your child’s items (sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, boots, etc).

Extra-curricular activities are being organized. Information will be sent out shortly.

Our monthly theme for October is Thankfulness!

I thank you once again for all your support and cooperation. Take care and be well.

Ms Alvares
