Extra-Curricular

At Royal Vale, learning goes far beyond the classroom. Our vibrant extracurricular programs—spanning both elementary and high school—offer students countless opportunities to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships. From robotics and 3D printing to dance, drama, sports, and cultural clubs, there's something for everyone. These activities foster creativity, teamwork, leadership, and a strong sense of community, helping students grow into well-rounded individuals.

Students at Royal Vale receive school credit for completing 20 hours of ECA and must earn 2 ECA credits during the year.
The school offers many ECAs before school, during lunch or after school. Students participating in activities outside of school may also receive credit for their participation.
The school has an ECA coordinator who plans, organizes and promotes a wide variety of extra-curricular activities throughout the year.
The various school ECAs are promoted on the ECA Board near the Draper Lobby.

Elementary School

At Royal Vale, students are encouraged to explore their passions and discover new talents through a wide range of extracurricular activities. From athletics like basketball, soccer, and climbing to creative outlets such as dance, drama, and 3D printing, there's something for every interest. Academic challenges like math competitions and robotics, cultural programs including PELO languages, and community events like the Terry Fox Run enrich the student experience. With even more options offered by our Home & School Association, every student can find their place to shine.

High School

Royal Vale’s high school students thrive in a rich environment of extracurricular opportunities designed to inspire, challenge, and connect. Scorekeeping

Students are asked to officiate and keep score of our GMAA basketball games during the Fall and Winter months.

Fencing

Fencing is one of the most beautiful sports available for learning at any age. It is a universal sport that develops speed, agility, endurance, strength, self-control, and ability to make quick decisions in situations of complex combat. This sport helps youth to develop their courage, self-confidence and coordination.

Rock Climbing

Royal Vale is fortunate to have an incredible indoor climbing facility. During gym classes and as an extracurricular activity, students in elementary and high school can learn the basics of indoor rock climbing. They have the opportunity to practice belaying, knot techniques and climbing techniques on set climbing routes under the supervision of certified climbing instructors on staff at Royal Vale. It is an exciting time in the climbing community as climbing has been added to the upcoming Olympic Games and we offer our students the opportunity to understand the mental, physical and technical aspects of this challenging sport.
