School Services
Services provided by Royal Vale School & EMSB
Childhood and adolescence are the most important years of life. At Royal Vale, supporting our students academically, socially and emotionally is our priority.
Teachers provide academic support to students during and after school, and communicate regularly with parents. Our parent volunteers take an active role in broadening student education.
Our guidance counsellor helps high school students with course selection, career exploration and post-secondary studies. She also provides counselling to students with questions and problems of a more personal nature.
As a public school, we have access to a wide range of physical and mental health services for our students and their families, including special education technicians, a psychologist, dietician, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, registered nurse, and social worker. These services are offered at no cost to parents.
Guidance Counselling
The guidance department is committed to helping our students in their academic, social or emotional well-being. Our guidance counsellor assists students in making choices about their future by informing students about CEGEP, vocational, professional programs and career possibilities. She plays a key role in crisis intervention and support students undergoing a difficult or traumatic period. A part-time substance abuse counsellor works collaboratively with the guidance counsellor to promote healthy lifestyles and prevention. Visit the RVS Counselling Services page for more information.

Dietitians travel from school to school visiting classrooms and cafeterias to talk to students about eating nutritious foods and being healthy. The aim is to encourage healthy lifestyles through good nutrition and physical activity and to sensitize students to the social influences on their perception of health and well-being.
