Secondary 1 - September

Nature Trips

The Secondary 1 Nature Trip is a long‑standing tradition at Vincent Massey Collegiate and an important introduction to student life at VMC. This experience offers students the opportunity to visit a camp setting where they participate in a variety of sports, cultural, and artistic activities in a supportive and engaging environment.

Throughout the trip, students build connections with their peers, develop a sense of independence, and begin forming a strong sense of belonging within the school community. The Nature Trip also serves as an introduction to the VMC House Council, helping students understand the House System and fostering school spirit from the start of their secondary experience.

This memorable experience sets a positive tone for the school year and supports the social, emotional, and community‑building goals of the VMC program.

Secondary 3 - April

Washington & Philadelphia Trip

The Washington and Philadelphia Trip is one of the most popular student trips at Vincent Massey Collegiate. During this experience, students visit the U.S. capital and explore iconic landmarks such as the White House, the Pentagon, and the Washington Monument, while learning about American history, government, and culture. On the return journey, students spend one day in Philadelphia, adding further historical depth to this enriching educational trip.

Secondary 1 - January/February

Ski Trips

VMC ski trips offer students the opportunity to enjoy an active day outdoors while building confidence, balance, and school spirit. These trips encourage participation, teamwork, and healthy living in a fun and supportive environment, while giving students a chance to connect with peers outside the classroom.

Secondary 4 - April

New York Trip

The New York Trip is a long‑standing tradition at Vincent Massey Collegiate. Students experience the energy of the Big Apple while visiting major landmarks and world‑class museums. The trip also includes the opportunity to attend a live Broadway performance, making it an unforgettable cultural and educational experience.

Secondary 3-4-5 - February

Costa Rica Service Trip

The Costa Rica Trip offers students a unique opportunity to explore the country’s rich culture while engaging in meaningful community development activities. Through cultural immersion and hands‑on experiences, students gain a deeper understanding of global citizenship while making a positive impact. This is an enriching and memorable experience that combines travel, learning, and service.

Secondary 5 - April

Europe Trip

Experience the sights, history, and culture of Europe over 10 to 11 days of travel and exploration. This immersive trip offers students guided tours of both historic and modern landmarks, allowing them to experience European culture firsthand. In addition to being a memorable educational experience, the Europe Trip is recognized as a for‑credit course, giving students the opportunity to earn extra credits while learning beyond the classroom.

Secondary 2 - April

Boston Trip

The Boston Trip is a three‑day educational experience offered to Secondary 2 students at Vincent Massey Collegiate. During the trip, students explore the rich history and culture of Boston while learning about the city’s role in shaping the past and present. This experience combines academic learning with travel, discovery, and shared experiences beyond the classroom.
