Secondary 1 Math Preparation
This tutorial is designed to help students build a strong foundation in key mathematical concepts they will need for success in the upcoming school year.
At Vincent Massey Collegiate, students follow an advanced Mathematics program, meaning Secondary I students complete the Secondary II Mathematics curriculum. While the school year focuses on Secondary II content, time is first dedicated to reviewing essential Secondary I concepts that students may not have previously covered.
The topics included in this tutorial are basic but necessary building blocks for the secondary‑level math program. Each section includes clear definitions, explanations, and examples to support understanding and confidence.
Students are encouraged to review the tutorial multiple times and to practise using additional online resources if needed. Developing a solid understanding of these concepts will greatly support success in the advanced math program.
Please note that students will be assessed on this material at the beginning of the school year.
