Code of Conduct
At Shadd Health & Business Centre, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students, staff, and visitors. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behaviour within our school community—both on and off campus, including during stage placements and school-sponsored events.
1. Respect for Others
- Treat classmates, teachers, staff, and visitors with courtesy and dignity at all times.
- Use inclusive and respectful language.
- Avoid disruptive, discriminatory, or harassing behavior of any kind (verbal, physical, or online).
- Respect the cultural, linguistic, and personal differences of others.
2. Academic Integrity
- Complete your own work honestly and ethically.
- Cheating, plagiarism, and falsifying documents or assignments are not tolerated.
- Follow all exam and assignment rules as communicated by instructors.
3. Attendance & Punctuality
- Attend classes, stages, and exams regularly and on time.
- Notify your instructor or stage supervisor in advance if you are unable to attend due to illness or an emergency.
- Repeated absences or lateness may impact your ability to complete your program.
4. Professionalism
- Act in a professional manner, especially during stage placements or in clinical/lab settings.
- Follow dress codes as required by your program (e.g., lab coats, uniforms).
- Maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy during any health-related training or internships.
5. Health & Safety
- Follow all safety protocols in classrooms, labs, and during off-site training.
- Do not bring drugs, alcohol, or weapons onto school property.
- Report any safety concerns, accidents, or inappropriate behaviour to staff immediately.
6. Responsible Use of Technology
- Use school computers, Wi-Fi, and online platforms responsibly and for academic purposes only.
- Do not share offensive content, access inappropriate websites, or misuse school systems.
- Respect others’ privacy when sharing or storing information.
7. Care for School Property
- Use school facilities, furniture, and equipment respectfully.
- Keep shared spaces clean and organized.
- Vandalism, theft, or intentional damage may result in disciplinary action.
8. Zero Tolerance for Violence or Harassment
Shadd maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of:
- Physical or verbal violence
- Bullying or intimidation
- Sexual harassment or inappropriate conduct
Any violation may result in immediate disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or expulsion.
9. Commitment to Equity & Inclusion
Shadd is proud of its diverse and multiethnic student body. Every member of our community has the right to feel safe, seen, and respected. Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, or socioeconomic status is not tolerated.
Reporting Concerns
If you witness or experience behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to a teacher, administrator, or support staff. All concerns will be handled with confidentiality and care.
By enrolling at Shadd Health & Business Centre, all students agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
