Program Objectives   

  • Train students to organize, plan, and implement a variety of activities that support the overall development of preschool and elementary school children (cognitive, psychomotor, social/emotional, moral).
  • Promote children’s safety, well-being, and integration within the school daycare environment.
  • Foster the ability to build professional relationships and work collaboratively within a school setting.

Work Environment

  • School daycare services in preschool and elementary school settings. 

 Required Qualities & Skills

  • Genuine interest in child development and care.
  • Strong organizational abilities and initiative.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound judgement and responsibility.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic group settings. 

 Core Responsibilities 

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise activities that nurture children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Ensure a safe and caring environment supporting children’s well-being
  • Facilitate snack and meal routines in a nurturing, supervised manner.
  • Integrate effectively into the school daycare team and uphold the educational philosophy of the school

Admission Requirements  

To be eligible for admission to this program, candidates must meet the following requirements: 
  • A Secondary School Diploma (SSD) or its equivalent is required to be eligible for admission.
        QUEBEC PERMANENT CODE: If you have studied in Quebec, your permanent code will appear on your transcript or report card from an educational institution recognized by the MEES (high school, CEGEP, university).
