ELECTORS

In order to be on the electoral list of the EMSB a person must;

  • Be a qualified voter according to the School Elections Act (art. 12);

(1)  has attained 18 years of age,
(2)  is a Canadian citizen,
(3)  is domiciled in the territory of the English-language school service centre
(4)  has been domiciled in Québec for at least six months,
(5)  is not under curatorship
(6)  has not been convicted within the last five years of an offence that is a corrupt electoral or referendum practice under this Act,

  • Be eligible to vote for the EMSB according to the Elections Act (art. 15);

(1)  Any elector who has a child admitted at the EMSB
(2)  Any elector who does not have a child admitted at the EMSB and is domiciled in the territory, if the elector so chooses. See Options to exercise voting rights
(3)  Any elector whose child was enrolled at the EMSB and has finished school is deemed to have chosen to be registered on the list of the EMSB

Who is not eligible to be on the electoral list of the EMSB
Any elector who has a child admitted at a francophone school service centre.
