Summer School | History of Quebec and Canada for Sec IV

Secondary IV History of Quebec and Canada

Course Objective:

To provide students with the opportunity to obtain their credits in Sec. IV History, the EMSB is offering an intensive summer school course to prepare students to write the Supplemental Examination.

This summer school course is scheduled over 10 days. Although some evaluation may take place during class time, students’ final mark will be based on the Supplemental Examination.  

Course Outline

Days 1 and 2:     1840-1896  | The formation of the Canadian federal system

Days 3 and 4:     1896-1945 | Nationalisms and the autonomy of Canada

Days 5 and 6:     1945-1980  | The modernization of Québec and the Quiet Revolution

Days 7 and 8:     From 1980 to the present| Societal choices in contemporary Québec

Days 9 and 10:   Review and preparation for the examination
